Sydney Metro West Stations
Projects
The architecture team behind the successful bid for the Sydney Metro West Five Stations includes Bates Smart + SAA Architects, John McAslan + Partners, Neeson Murcutt Neille, Stewart Architecture and Aileen Sage. The project’s Country first approach is being led by Djinjama. TCL is leading landscape.
The Five Stations are part of the 24km Sydney Metro West line connecting Greater Parramatta to Sydney’s CBD. Five new individual stations that respond to their unique contexts will be designed and constructed along the Sydney Metro West alignment – Westmead, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock and The Bays – and is targeting a 2032 opening date.
Stewart Architecture will be focusing on The Bays station, located between Glebe Island and White Bay Power Station.
Sydney Metro awarded the project to the Metro Vista team in early 2026, led by Gamuda as Principal Contractor, with Laing O’Rourke and DT Infrastructure as delivery partners.
